Alexander Lorenz

Truly effective video is more than just moving images. It's a catalyst designed to achieve more - to reach deeper with a clear message and to reach wider to connect with the right audience.

Who is Alexander?

I believe that every organization has a powerful story to tell, and the right vision can bring it to life in a way that truly resonates. What fascinates me is the journey from a strategic goal to a creative concept that genuinely moves people. As a consultant and workshop leader, I bring this passion for connection into every session. It’s never just about the technology or hitting ‘record’; it’s about listening, discovering the most compelling perspective, and working together to turn a core message into an unforgettable experience. Because that’s how we achieve more – not just in views, but in lasting impact.

Alexander Lorenz combines a creative director’s vision with a deep understanding of strategic business communication. As the Founder and Managing Director of the video agency mindnapped, he has years of experience guiding a diverse clientele—from public sector institutions and non-profits to international B2B companies in key industries such as energy, healthcare, engineering, and materials – to transform complex topics into clear and compelling visual narratives. His expertise lies in bridging the gap between the ‘what’ – the essential information – and the ‘why’ – the human story that drives engagement and action.

Shaped by extensive practical experience, his workshop and consulting style is interactive, collaborative, and focused on tangible outcomes. With his Düsseldorf-based agency mindnapped, he has built a team that lives by its claim to “achieve more with video.” They act not simply as producers, but as strategic partners dedicated to creating communication that doesn’t just get seen, but delivers measurable results.

Meet the Person Behind the Trainer

1. What are your hobbies?

I love to cook, visit art exhibitions, and travel.

2. What's your favorite meal or go-to comfort food?

I don't really have one single soul food. I love trying new things and experimenting with dishes. You could say my favorite meal is a surprising flavor I've never tasted before.

3. Who or what inspires you in life?

A great conversation that challenges my perspective. Or a piece of art that tells a complex story in a single frame. Anything that builds a powerful, unexpected connection.

4. If you weren't working with AI, what do you think you'd be doing?

I'd probably just be making films. Or maybe I would have stuck to being a photographer.

5. What's one misconception about AI you often hear and how do you respond?

That AI is 'creative' on its own. AI is an incredibly powerful tool for synthesis and acceleration. But it has no intent, no empathy, and no real understanding of human context. It can mimic a style perfectly, but it can't ask 'Why?' Real creativity and compelling storytelling happen at the intersection of strategy and human experience. AI is the co-pilot, but the human is still the director.

6. What advice would you give someone just starting out in AI?

Don't get lost in the tools. Always start with the problem, not the technology. Ask yourself: 'What story am I trying to tell?' or 'What communication problem am I trying to solve?' Only then, figure out if and how AI can help you achieve that goal better. Focus on the value, not the hype.
